Some great coaching sessions this week. One of the take aways I have for you is this. It's not about the reality, it's about the focus. What do I mean by that? Well the reality is the reality... there is nothing you can do about that.
BUT what you decide to focus on, can have a dramatic effect on your actions, outcome, and happiness.
If it is safe to do so, take a look around you at the moment. Now focus on just one thing, it can be a colour...
or it could be a shape...
Usually two things happen here:
1. You start to see what you focus on everywhere, and maybe even transform similar things to align with your focus. For example you may see pink as "light red" or an oval as a "squashed circle"
2. You stop "seeing" or focusing on, some of the other things. It's almost like they are in a blind spot.
When I use intentional focus exercises with my clients, it can have transformative effects. Such as how I can't do something to how I can do something, or there are always obstacles to there are always opportunities.
Try it for yourself. TODAY - intentionally focus on what you want, not what you don't want, and see what happens
As the Henry Ford quote goes "If you think you can, or you think you can't ...you're right"
